Demolition
Luzon has demolished over 400 residential, commercial and industrial structures in the last 5 years. On many occasions this work was performed in conjunction with one or more of our environmental services. On every project our approach is to reduce the overall environmental impact and associated costs by recycling or reusing as many of the existing features as possible. This can include salvageable items such as scrap metal (recycle), and old growth wood structural beams (reuse). Useable fill is typically created from clean concrete debris using an on or off site crusher further reducing the overall impact to landfills.
Federal, state and in many case local laws and procedures must be considered in conjunction with environmental issues, existing utility impacts and reporting requirements that may not be as straight forward as first thought. Our experience with all aspects of site specific demolition situations enables us to anticipate potential pitfalls and recommend the most cost effective and safest approach.

Site Work
With numerous pieces of heavy equipment owned, Luzon has the capability of moving dirt fast. Every day we are making major cuts, importing fill or excavating storm water retention ponds. We perform grading with current compaction standards and equipment in order to exceed local requirements.

Utility Installation
Whether you need to dig deep or sneak a trenchless line under your sidewalk and through your yard, Luzon is equipped for all types of underground utility construction. We have tackled projects of all sizes and complexities ranging from single domestic drainage hookups to full-scale water main replacements.

Storm Water Management
Storm water management programs and planning are a priority on every project and our experience and attention to detail protects watersheds adjacent to our projects and protects our customers from ever-increasing regulatory involvement. Erosion and sedimentation controls are the first item addressed on-site and the last to be removed. Our experience and expertise prevents our customers from being involved in the extensive erosion control maintenance and monitoring process.

Grading
Proper grading provides the foundation for your final landscape and will allow you to maximize the use of your property. Many factors must be considered before determining the final grade of a property, though none more important that allowing for proper drainage. It’s extremely important to establish the grading plan based on the site’s intended use. If water does not flow away from structures, serious damage can result to the foundation. Poor drainage in the lawn and planting areas will prevent intended vegetation from thriving. We can provide a customized grading solution that will allow you to realize the full potential of your property.

Paving
There is great advantage in hiring a single site contractor to build the entire site from clearing to pavement striping. As earthwork is performed the sub-grade can be prepared in stages. Fill material can then be placed in phases to protect the final paving sub-grade from damage by weather and other construction trades. We schedule our activity in conjunction with the utility crews to cover up sub-grade immediately upon completion.
