This project included the excavation and disposal of contaminated soil, construction of a clean soil cap, reconstruction of two baseball fields, including new fencing, lighting, plumbing and a concrete slab for a future building. The area encompassed approximately 2 acres and approximately 4750 tons of non-hazardous lead contaminated soil and 500 tons of hazardous soil was excavated, loaded and transported to an approved facility for disposal. The clean cap was constructed utilizing a geomembrane barrier, a vapor mitigation system, an extensive drainage system, certified clean sand, fill, topsoil, and infield mix. The construction of the new baseball fields included new fencing, backstops, retaining walls, electrical and plumbing. Sod was laid on the fields and an irrigation system was installed.
